Spurs fans have experienced a lot of excitement as their team moved into the final games and nearly clenched the NBA Championship Title. AT&T Center has also experienced its’ own major game change with a complete bowl innerwrap of the arena, adding to the ambiance and experience of spectators both on site and across the nation watching on television.
Recognized recently by Stadium Journey as the number one arena in the US, AT&T Center recently sought to improve their standing even more by wrapping their innerbowl to create a more energetic and captivating environment visually.
With over 15,000 square feet of concrete and over four storeys in the arena, Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) sought out San Antonio-based creative agency XGrafx to create the graphics. The project was a large undertaking, covering the entire concrete wallscape of the arena and is pieced together with over 100 sections of graphics. “As one of the largest wrap jobs in Texas and possibly the US, this was certainly a large project,” said XGrafx Owner, Mark Song. “But the creative challenge was something we were both excited to be a part of, as well as something we knew we could excel at. Providing a visual backdrop to the arena adds another powerful dimension of excitement to the great events going on there.” Song said.
SS&E had some strong parameters on the project regarding colors and imagery, so our design intention was to keep things fairly monochromatic but powerful, Song said. “The intention behind the wrap,” continues Song, “is to extend the excitement on the floor throughout the entire arena and into people’s homes as they view the events on television from the AT&T Center.”
XGrafx, an agency that specializes in design, signs and visual communications, is uniquely different from other large print-houses because they offer all elements of the printing process from design and development to creation and installation. Because of this expertise, they have a vested interest in the entirety of a project, according to Song. XGrafx also provided all of the signage around the arena featuring the Spurs for The NBA Playoffs.
XGrafx is a creative agency that specializes in design, branding, signage, wall wraps and visual communications. Based out of San Antonio, Texas, XGrafx clientele include small businesses to international brand leaders. The company began in 2007 and has grown steadily through word-of-mouth and reputation. Clients include Coca Cola, Sea World, Samsung, Southwest Airlines and The American Kidney Fund.
